How Do I Increase Revenue Per Patient?

Raise your rate, sell a full plan of care as a package instead of single visits, and add a monthly continuity program so patients do not disappear after discharge.

Those three moves raise revenue per patient without a single new lead.

01

Should I raise my rates?

Yes, raise your rates if your price is making you feel like a commodity. Ben started at $135 per visit thinking a lower price was easier to sell, but he had to justify his price more often and attracted less committed patients.

He moved to $175, then $225 after hiring his first physical therapist.

02

How do I sell packages?

Tell the patient exactly how many visits they need based on your experience, then offer the package at 15 to 20 percent off the per-visit rate. Do not hand them a menu of options.

Patients do not know what they need, and a menu tells them you do not either, so they pick the cheapest option or nothing.

03

What is a continuity program?

A continuity program is a monthly performance check-in charged at the full evaluation price. You re-evaluate the patient and build a performance plan so they stay in the practice instead of disappearing after discharge.

Mention it at the very beginning of the patient relationship, not at discharge. Ben's patients used it to prevent injuries and to hit goals like running marathons or squatting 300 or more pounds.

04

How do I stop losing money on no-shows and drop-offs?

Replace the intake form with an Evaluation Accelerator Form and explain the value in the name. Renaming it to show the value raised compliance, show-up rates, and plan-of-care conversions.

Nobody wants to fill out an intake form because they see no benefit in it. Send three emails and texts after booking, and have the form completed the day before the appointment.

05

How do I reactivate past patients?

Run a monthly text to every past patient asking how they are doing and start a conversation. It costs nothing and pulls revenue out of a list you already own.

06

What do I track?

Track marketing performance so you know when to adjust offers and when to scale budget. Document your follow-up, evaluation, and plan-of-care sales systems early.

Ben missed tens of thousands in revenue because those systems were not written down and his team was not comfortable running them.
